A single decker bus crashed into a high street shop in Newport High Street on the Isle of Wight. Both Newport High Street and St James Street were closed while the building was inspected.
Reading is the site of Berkshire’s new fire and rescue service base. The new headquarters will be at Theale Cross in Pincents Lane, which is close to Junction 12 of the M4 motorway. The building will get a million-pound refurbishment.
Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS foundation trusts are in discussions to join forces. The trusts are asking people how they want to see the new organisation run and managed.
Protests took place outside Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) offices in Brighton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth between 12.30pm and 1.30pm. The staff protests were over plans to close offices.

A man and two women have been arrested in connection with armed robberies in Southampton. Hampshire Constabulary said the first robbery took place in the late afternoon at a Spar shop in Sholing Road where the man left with about £400.
Southampton General Hospital has had to shut more wards due to a steep rise in the total number of norovirus cases. Nine wards have now been shut to new admissions.
